A private petroleum exploration and production company
incorporated in 1996. CPEL has held 15% Working Interests
in each of the following three Concession Blocks:-
- Khanpur West (Punjab), Coverage Area: 5,800 Sq. Km.
- Sabzal (Punjab), Coverage Area: 800 Sq. Km.
- Mekhtar (Balochistan), Coverage Area: 1525 Sq. Km.
Whereas Government Holding and Polish Oil & Gas Company (POGC) had 5%
and 80% Working Interests, respectively in each of the Blocks and POGC
was Operator of the same. These acreage were relinquished in February
2001 after having completed G & G studies and drilling a dry hole.
However, CPEL would be looking for new ventures of petroleum exploration
& production in Pakistan.
